I learnt more about signalling pathways and molecular science regarding the immune system and cancers. With my research project tilted ‘How can MCL-1 levels be therapeutically targeted to combat cancer and resistance to therapy?’, I learnt new anti-cancer therapies that give hope to patients with relapsed/refractory cancers. Other than academic study, I made new friends at the accommodation and at university. We had nice chats whenever we hang out and I got to knowmuch more about Bristol. I am grateful for the opportunity to join the UoB Badminton Team. Badminton competitions in the UK are quite different fromHK’s and there are more opportunities for people to participate. Representing University of Bristol in university leagues was a cool experience. People in Bristol were friendly and nice, special thanks to my project supervisor Dr Angela Hague and academic advisor Dr Jim Spencer who provided lots of guidance and support throughout the year.
