UNIVERSITY OF GLASGOW Chu Xia Wei 3035386855 Traveling around Europe was sheer glamour! Apart from sight- seeing at world-famous tourist spots, I got to have a taste of local cuisine, learn languages, adapt to new accents, practice using new currencies, plan my own itinerary and so much more! I have come to realize the immensity of the world, finally surfacing from the well that I have been living my whole life! My research aims to find out how reliably gaze deviation and head rotation correlate with stroke characteristics, i.e. side, site, severity and volume etc. For months, I have been measuring angles of eye and head deviation on acute CT scans and have found statistically significant results. The findings can assist early detection and pre-hospital evaluation of acute ischemic stroke and guide future treatment. Research Living away from home necessitates feeding oneself. I have spent more itme in the kitchen discovering new recipes and sharing the joy in preparing meals for my flatmates. The less intense school work compared to HK allows me to take apart in various extra-curricular activities like aerial yoga and ice-skating. The fact that Scottish highlands are one of the most breath-taking places in the world also prompted me to go hiking occationally. These are truly wonderful and unforgettable experiences.
