MBBS Enrichment Year 2018-19

My enrichment year In semester 1, I went to the University of Bristol and study mainly about anatomy. The course was very inspiring and interactive and I enjoyed the dissection sections. In addition, we could brainstorm many anatomy related topics and have revision on cadavers in seminars. Besides, I learned nutrition and improve my cooking skills in my elective. I, together with my groupmates, made a healthy recipe and nutritious for athletes who need energy-dense diets. As we were not good at cooking, we thought of meals that require less cooking skills and practiced several times. Fortunately, it tasted delicious. In semester 2, I come back to HKU for research attachment and I took an elective. In the lab, I was guided by a researcher to do a qPCR and I did a literature review on hepatoprotective mechanism against non- alcoholic fatty liver disease of 2 herbal intervention: SAMC and LBP. This experience gave me an opportunity to explore how research could be conducted and cultivate my critical thinking when analysing research papers. Besides studying hard, I also explore British culture in my spare time. I went to many interesting places e.g the art museum near the Wills Memorial Buildings in Bristol, and joined short day trips to Wells, Stonehenge etc. there were also some cultural activities or events. I was amazed by the huge open air concert organised by the student union fair. What’s more, I studied 2 interesting common cores to fulfil my credits.I broadened my horizon on how to make a proposal to gain subsidy from Global Fund. Besides, I enjoyed studying crime investigation. I realised that it is not an easy task to find evidence and reconstruct the crime scene logically with clues Luo Yingxin 3035388188 Luo Yingxin 130
