To assist in formulating an optimum health care policy.
Mission
Medical and Health Research Network (MHRN) is established to support,
conduct and disseminate health care policy research, advocacy, analysis
and planning in order to improve access to high quality health care
in Hong Kong. MHRN deeply understands that the knowledge of the senior
executives who are involved in formulating health care policy is very
critical in the formulation of an equitable health care policies.
An executive training programme had been organized in Hong Kong to
train senior executives in the health care profession to improve their
understanding on the options available in developing a sustainable
and a high quality health care system.
Its overall mission is to stimulate scientific enquiry into the issues
of health care system, explore the optimum way to finance, organize
and deliver effective health care services. Identifying areas for
improvement in the existing health care systems, making sound recommendations
as well as providing advisory services for the government and other
private bodies are the major work of MHRN.
MHRN
is running under the auspices of the Faculty of Medicine of the
University of Hong Kong. It is developed on the basis that the University
is a key partner and champion in the processes of health care policy
research, advocacy, analysis and planning by bringing evidence based
information. MHRN functions at three levels: the Advisory Panel
comprising major policy-makers, the Executive Board and the various
Study Groups.
