To promote the image of Medical and Health Research Network to various
government and private organizations as well as academic institutions
by organizing series of health care related monthly seminars, conferences
and distinguished lectures.
To
explore the issues of existing Hong Kong health care system needed
to be re-examined and improved by reviewing and analyzing the existing
Hong Kong health care policy.
Mid
term
To establish a databank in the field of health care for Hong Kong
by consolidating MHRN's own research data and collecting other relevant
data from other possible sources.
To
project and predict the outcomes of various scenarios of health
care policies and financing by conducting a comprehensive health
care policy research.
To
explore ways in which health care services can best be financed,
organized and delivered and make sound recommendations on health
care policy and economics based on evidence-based, data-driven research.
To
explore collaborative opportunities with different bodies, local
and international renowned universities.
To
recruit expertise from the community and overseas to join the advisory
panel and to offer a joint HKU-Harvard executive training programme
with the Havard School of Public Health, Harvard University for
senior executives in the health care profession to upgrade their
knowledge in the field of health care.
Long-term
To establish MHRN as a resource centre located at Hong Kong, in
partnership with local and overseas experts.
To
provide consultancy and advisory services to government and non-government
bodies as well as assist the HKSAR government in developing a sustainable
and quality health care system to the public.
To
offer master degree programme with internationally renowned universities
in the areas of health economics and health care policy analysis.
