Research Areas

  • Epidemiological studies in maternal and child health (using birth cohort designs), cancer (breast and cervical), elderly health, adolescent health, and tobacco control
  • Medical decision making as applied to cost-effectiveness analyses of clinical and public health issues (e.g. breast and cervical cancer screening) using state-transition modeling
  • Clinical computerisation in Hong Kong including current status, future needs, the identification of barriers and incentives to change, and doctors' willingness to pay to computerise their practice
  • Population health needs and demand assessment and related impact on macro health financing methods
  • Medical education particularly on the use of information technology in student learning
