The
Third International Symposium of the Asian and Pacific Parkinson's
Disease Association was a major event coordinated by the University
of Hong Kong and co-sponsored by the World Health Organisation (WHO)
and the Movement Disorders Society.
This
international conference was well attended by leading experts representing
academia, industry, patient groups and public health bodies such
as the WHO. To leverage the noted expertise of the academics and
the patient groups and to bring together local input from recognized
community leaders, MHRN had hosted a lunch meeting with local and
overseas experts to discuss the policy implications and the political
economy of chronic disease management by using Parkinson's disease
as a case example.
