198th Congregation of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine will be held on December 17, 2017 (Sunday) at Hall 3DE, Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai.
This annual Ceremony is one of the most significant events for our graduands. It marks the conclusion of an important stage in their study life, and the start of a new chapter in their life-long professional endeavour. It will be a memorable occasion for them to celebrate their joy and achievements with their fellow classmates, teachers and family members. Families and friends of our graduands will be proud to see them recognised on stage at this memorable and once-in-a-life occasion.
This year, we are particularly excited that we are also celebrating the 130 Years of Medicine in Hong Kong. Over 100 Chancellors and Deans from universities all over the world are being invited to join the Congregation and share the joy of the graduands. We are also honoured that Professor Peter Mathieson, President and Vice-Chancellor, will be the presiding officer of the faculty-based Ceremony and will confer degrees upon graduands and Professor Jennifer Doudna, Professor of Chemistry and of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, University of California, Berkeley, to be the Guest of Honour and deliver a speech on this occasion. Last but not least, our Dean Professor Gabriel M Leung will share with the graduands and guests the Faculty’s recent achievements and future development plans in his “State of the Faculty” address.
All graduands, you are encouraged to participate. Please mark this important date in your calendar and we will notify graduands individually by mid of October 2017. Stay tuned!
