Welcome Message

I take great pleasure to invite your participation in the Frontiers in Biomedical Research organised by the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of The University of Hong Kong to be held on Friday, December 14, 2012.

This year, the Symposium is one of the highlighted scientific events of the Medical Faculty’s 125th Anniversary celebrations. Building on its success in the past decade and capitalising on the research strengths of the Faculty, the Symposium will continue to serve as an excellent platform for the exchange of cutting-edge research knowledge and groundbreaking scientific discovery in biomedical science. Major themes of the Symposium will cover the Faculty’s strategic and emerging research areas including Cancer, Healthy Aging, Infection and Immunology, Public Health, Reproduction and Development, and Stem Cell and Genomics. Renowned overseas speakers, local academics and experts have been invited to share with us their novel medical concepts and inspiring research achievements in the Symposium.

I am sure that all these rich and exciting scientific programmes packed with our speakers’ insightful presentations will enlighten the participants with innovative ideas in biomedical research, which are vital to the health advancement of our global community.
