Hello there, this is Ruth. I am a clinical psychologist registered in Hong Kong and licensed in the States. It is my belief that the topic of mental health is not just about treatment and intervention, but also prevention and self-growth. Especially when it is part of life that there are ups and downs, sometimes it might be easier to surf through the waves when we are to “invest” in developing our internal self. I believe that my role as a psychologist is to provide a non-judgmental space that could allow that internal self to feel listened to and cared for – a space that could eventually foster personal growth and self-actualisation.
I utilise an integrative theoretical orientation in psychotherapy with evidence-based and strength-based approaches. These primarily include cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, psychodynamic and mindfulness-based approaches.
Hello this is Joseph. I am a life traveller and companion – I love listening to people’s life stories and taking a joint adventure with them to walk over different predicaments. I worked as a lecturer in the Department of Psychology before joining the team. I was also a volunteer counsellor in couple (married or unmarried) counselling in an NGO.
Narrative practice is my primary counselling approach. You are all welcome to my counselling room to take a break from your difficulties and we can revisit your life stories together to share your tears and laughter, your frustration and anger, and to (re-)discover your hopes and dreams.
