Blended learning involves students learning through a combination of e-learning and traditional face-to-face teaching. The following guidelines and resources will help you plan your learning activity using different modalities.
Step 1: Designing and planning your teaching and learning activity
Consider the intended learning outcomes of your teaching and learning activity (e.g. theoretical understanding, application of knowledge, analysis, mastery of techniques) and the nature of your subject matter (e.g. abstract concepts, facts).
Think about how different teaching modalities and/or technology may fit with the intended learning outcomes.
Find out how your teaching fits with other related learning activities within the curriculum.
Where available, you can familiarise yourself with your students’ online learning behaviour and responses through learning analytics.
