State Key Laboratory of Liver Research and Theme-Based Research Scheme Project on Liver Cancer Stemness

Since 2016, the Theme-Based Research Scheme (TRS) Project on Liver Cancer Stemness has been a co-organiser of the Symposium of State Key Laboratory of Liver Research (SKLLR). The 8th round of the Symposium was attended by around 150 delegates comprising scientists, clinicians, medical personnel, academics and research postgraduate students.

With the collaboration of the research team members of the SKLLR and TRS Project as well as other local and overseas experts, the Symposium was able to feature presentations of pioneering research and cutting-edge clinical developments on liver diseases. Professor Sang Hoon Ahn (Professor of Department of Internal Medicine, Institute of Gastronenterology, Yonsei University College of Medicine, South Korea) and Professor Klaus H. Kaestner (Thomas and Evelyn Suor Butterworth Professor in Genetics, University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, USA) were invited as the keynote speakers. Senior scientists and young researchers alike presented their recent research findings, research whether clinical, theoretical, or laboratory based.
