140 for 140: Great Minds for Grand Challenges
Strategic Area: Nursing

HKUMed is a training ground and springboard for future nursing leaders in clinical practice, policy, education and research. We focus on developing students’ capabilities in complex, technology-enabled and rapidly-changing modes of healthcare, and incorporate interprofessional and interdisciplinary exposure to prepare future leaders for these challenges. We also have partnerships with many universities around the world for student exchange and research.

Our research and scholarship are centred around the strategic aim of contributing to improvements in healthcare and public health, and to reflect the ever-changing nature of nursing practice in both Hong Kong and around the world. Hong Kong is currently experiencing a demographic and epidemiological transition similar to other high-income countries. The need for nursing professionals that can deliver evidence-based practice related to ageing, non-communicable diseases, mental health, palliative care, and community health is important as ever before.

To support our aims and aspirations, HKUMed is recruiting international nursing leaders with strong academic and clinical backgrounds, who are enthusiastic about the opportunity of being at the forefront of healthcare and technology, emphasising on patient-centred care.
